In today’s news, Korea supports Cambodia in mine clearance and victim assistance efforts, scientists are concerned as new COVID-19 variant emerges in India, startup in Cameroon connects medical patients with doctors abroad, vulnerable cockatoo species can make and play their own musical instruments, handmade cards cheer up hospital patients in New Jersey, United States, Swedish vegan milk brand to open factory in United Kingdom, and puppy with birth defect finally finds a home in Ohio, United States.

Korea supports Cambodia in clearing landmines.

The Korean government, through The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), has pledged a donation of US$10 million to assist in the removal of landmines and other harmful explosive remnants of war in Cambodia. Furthermore, the initiative includes helping the affected people and providing mine risk education as well as monitoring and evaluation. The project that runs until 2025 also receives funding from other countries, the United Nations Development Programme, and the Cambodian government. Since 2006, over 250 square kilometers of land have been made safe for more than one million citizens. Korea is a laureate of three Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion and Shining World Leadership Awards for Protection and Peace. Our utmost gratitude, Korea and all parties involved, for your benevolent commitment to save and improve lives. May the Buddha bless all Cambodian citizens to enjoy lasting peace and prosperity.

Scientists worried about new double mutant COVID-19 variant.

According to the Indian Ministry of Health, researchers have identified two significant mutations together in the same COVID-19 virus, specifically in the critical part that attaches to human cells. The new strain was initially found in the state of Maharashtra and India’s capital, New Delhi. More recently, cases have also been reported elsewhere such as in the United States. Scientists are working to understand the effect of the variant’s double mutation, as this could make the virus more infectious and more deadly by evading the protection provided by vaccines and the body’s immune system. India is a recipient of two Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion and Shining World Leadership Awards for Environmental Protection and Good Governance; as well as a laureate of three Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, three Shining World Leadership Awards for Justice, two Shining World Leadership Awards for Peace, and Shining World Leadership Awards for Good Governance and Protection. Thank you, India’s Ministry of Health and researchers, for your diligent actions to understand the ever-mutating COVID-19 virus. In Divine harmony, may this and other pandemics soon end altogether by everyone becoming vegan.

Up next on Noteworthy News, startup in Cameroon connects medical patients with doctors abroad. We’ll just take some time now to thank the prison instructors who teach useful skills to inmates, helping them find work and be a part of the community after their release. Please stay tuned to Supreme Master Television for more foresighted news.

Hallo, virtuous viewers, it’s Phoebe the vegan Pygmy Hippo! Wherever I go, others just can’t keep their eyes off me, because I became so adorable after turning vegan. Ah, don’t envy me, just get the same tool as I did: that’s right, the vegan diet. Then you’ll have the same result. Foaming hand wash is pretty popular nowadays. A long-lasting version can be made at home for both your hand soap and dish detergent. First, you will need to buy a highly concentrated, natural and organic vegan brand of soap, which recommends consumers to dilute it prior to use. Liquid castile soap (named after the region in Spain) is a good choice, as it is naturally vegetable-based and versatile. Pour a cup of water into an empty foaming hand soap dispenser and add in a tablespoon of liquid castile soap. After closing the top, give the bottle a little shake. That’s it! Love you so much for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet thus save the world! And thank you for your attention. Here’s the weather around our beautiful globe.

Cameroonian company helps patients receive online medical advice.

MedicAfrik has created an online consultation system for patients to connect with a specialist abroad as an alternative to traveling during the pandemic. The network, which consists of nearly a hundred medical facilities and doctors, brings together Canadian and French specialists with people from Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Togo. With approximately five hundred patients having already received help through the service, the company has set a goal to make the system available across Africa. Well done, MedicAfrik, for your wise solution. May we turn towards our compassionate nature and care for one another during this challenging time, in Heaven’s loving light.

Drumming cockatoos stand out for their musical talent.

Indigenous to Australia and New Guinea, the palm cockatoo, otherwise known as the goliath or great black cockatoo, is one of the few bird species that utilize tools. This ancient bird is also possibly the only one to make musical instruments. Males have the habit of shaping a drumstick out of a loose tree branch or a seed pod, then thumping it rhythmically against a tree hollow to attract mates. As the numbers of the slow-reproducing bird are decreasing due to wildfires and mining, ornithologist Dr. Robert Heinsohn from the Australian National University advocates for protection of their habitat and for the species to be designated as endangered. Wow, such an endearing, smart and special bird! In the care of the Providence, may we all rise up to safeguard the vulnerable animal species that grace our planet.

Strangers cheer up patients with get well cards.

As 74-year-young Eileen Michaels from New Jersey, United States saw how hospital patients were feeling isolated due to the pandemic, she asked her local community members to make hospital greeting cards. After sending out the request on social media, the retired nurse and Wall Street executive received hundreds of cards in only a matter of hours. The handmade greetings arrived from people of different age groups and backgrounds, and they were delivered to Jersey Shore University Medical Center by a kind lady named Carol Rizzo. Ms. Rizzo conveyed that the patients were touched to tears and grateful for the unexpected get-well wishes. What a great initiative! Our hearts are filled with warmth, Eileen Michaels, Carol Rizzo and all the caring strangers. May such acts of kindness be encountered on a daily basis everywhere, in God’s upliftment.

Coming up, Swedish vegan milk brand Oatly to open factory in United Kingdom. We’ll pause for a moment to be thankful to God for helping us to make good and noble decisions in our lives. We’ll be right back with more thoughtful news here on Supreme Master Television. Welcome back to Noteworthy News – Inspiring News for an Optimistic World.

Swedish plant-based company to expand production to United Kingdom.

Oatly, a vegan dairy product business, has announced a plan to establish its first factory in the UK in 2023. Set to be one of the biggest plant-based milk factories globally, the facility will provide at least 200 job opportunities. The unit will manufacture 300 million liters of oat milk yearly at launch, with an estimated eventual increase to 450 million liters. Apart from acquiring oats from local farms for the new factory, Oatly intends to operate completely on renewable energy as well as decrease its water, waste and energy consumption each by 75% within six years of operation. Congratulations, Oatly, on your expansion and thank you for contributing to a more sustainable future. In Celestial mercy, may we soon live in a world of abundance as the plant-based diet becomes mainstream worldwide.

Puppy affected by birth defect finds fur-ever home.

Jack the bulldog from the United States, who was born with a spinal cord condition called spina bifida, finally got his permanent home after a setback. While living at the non-profit Peaches Bully Rescue in Ohio, then-nine-month-old Jack was saddened when he had eagerly traveled 40 minutes only to learn that his potential adopter did not show up to meet him. When his story was posted online, 600 people inquired about him and 200 people sent in adoption applications. In his new home, the adorable pup has a doting human sister, as well as many toys and necessities that were kindly donated. We are so happy for you and your new family, Jack, and thank you, Peaches Bully Rescue, for all you do to help bring people and their animal friends together. May all deserving individuals waiting in shelters soon find loving human companions to share their lives with, in Divine benevolence.

Ready for a good laugh? Here’s the joke of the day entitled, “Overdone Support.”

Billy came home from school very late one day. His mom asked him where he had been. Billy told her that he was at friend’s place studying. Mom being mom, she called three friends to confirm if Billy was telling the truth.

“He was here studying the whole time.”

“He is here studying in front of me. Do you want to talk to him?”

“Hallo, mom. I am studying at a friend’s place and will be late.”
