Staying well hydrated is important during exercise or living in warmer climates. I would like to share a health tip with you. Coconut water is well-known for its delicious taste, nutritional value and rehydration ability. It is rich in minerals, especially potassium, providing up to 20% of the daily needs per serving. Consuming one coconut is equivalent to consuming 1-1.5 cups of water. However, you are advised to avoid drinking it at night as this may lead to frequent night-time urination which can disrupt sleep patterns. Coconut water is considered “cooling” in Chinese medicine and may cause stomach discomfort if taken at night before sleep. Therefore, coconut water is best consumed in the morning or early afternoon.
