A first-person view drone provides an immersive flying experience, as the pilot wears specialized goggles or a compatible AR headset, so they feel as if they are sitting inside the drone. This stands in contrast to traditional aerial drones, which usually rely on viewing the camera feed through a phone or other screen. “You could find FPV shots today on TV, during sports broadcasts, commercials, and even Hollywood films. Another major difference that separates FPV drones from regular drones are the flight controls.” By enhancing the excitement and enjoyment of flying, AR (augmented reality) and VR (virtual reality) technology contributes significantly to the overall first-person view experience. It also helps to navigate through narrow spaces.

First-person view drones are also useful for environmental monitoring, tracking wildlife, assessing water and air quality, and mapping ecological systems. Meet Dr. Iain Kerr, founder and driving force behind Ocean Alliance’s SnotBot program. Let’s see how the effectiveness and efficiency of SnotBot is in enhancing their research. With the help of drones, they can now collect 20 samples in just one day. Previously, accomplishing this task would have taken a team of 12 people using a 28-meter (92 feet) boat for a week. “The whole biology of the animal, just from the exhaled breath condensate and it is safer, quieter, [and] less invasive for the animal.”

Let’s hear our Most Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) speak about our beautiful, precious planet. “So we have to protect this beautiful place we call Earth, because this is the home of not just us, but many other species; and the environment, beautiful flora and fauna. It's really an incredible place. It took trillions of years to manifest such a planet. And it takes many, many meritorious, virtuous deeds of human beings or animal-people or other beings alike in order to garnish into this energy in order to manifest such kind of planet like this.”
