In today’s news, aid workers and relief cargo arrive in Kabul, Afghanistan, Indian state mobilizes response to more dangerous Nipah virus, Irish government plans to end homelessness by 2030, international research team proposes more efficient way to preserve food, Jamaican athlete finds the stranger who paid for his taxi, Southern California restaurants launch vegan fried chicken, and charity in France trains dogs to smell virus.

Emergency aid is flown to Afghan’s capital.

The United Nations Humanitarian Air Service (UNHAS), managed by the World Food Programme (WFP), has resumed flights from Pakistan to Kabul. Earlier, planes transported relief supplies to the cities of Mazar-i-Sharif, Kandahar and Herat in Afghanistan. In addition to nutritional assistance, UNHAS is delivering medical items from the World Health Organization. However, the aid agencies are short of money and time. To keep the UNHAS flights going, WFP says US$30 million is required. And with more than 90% of Afghan families already struggling to sustain themselves, the agency estimates it will need US$200 million to stock up enough food and distribute it around the country before winter sets in. Our sincere gratitude, WFP, WHO, UNHAS, all humanitarian workers and the cooperative Taliban government. We pray that Afghanistan is on the road to peace and its resilient citizens will receive everything they need, in Allah’s compassionate Care.

Indian state mobilizes response to new health threat.

Kerala, in southern India, is exercising vigilance after a 12-year-old boy succumbed to the Nipah virus (NiV). The pathogen is zoonotic, coming originally from fruit bats, with pigs being very susceptible. It can then be transmitted to other domestic animals and humans through contaminated food or directly between humans. Following the child’s diagnosis, health officials initiated contact tracing and isolated everyone who was close to him. Mercifully, test results were negative for the first eight primary contacts, but 40 other people were under observation. Medical personnel also conducted door-to-door investigations to identify additional individuals who may have been infected. Although the symptoms of contracting NiV are similar to COVID-19, death rates are higher, between 40% and 75% of the time, making it a more dangerous disease. We offer our sympathy to the victim’s family and give thanks to the frontline responders. May all human beings stop eating animal products, for their own safety and our planet’s salvation, in Divine mercy.

Up next, Irish government plans to end homelessness by 2030. Let’s take a moment to thank the diamond setters who are responsible for not only securing the stones tightly into jewelry, but making sure they are mounted level and straight. Please stay tuned to Supreme Master Television for more righteous news. “[…] There is a saying that meat is like an addiction, and you can get addicted to meat and it’s very bad for you and it actually changes your personality by eating meat.” ~ Shamil Aloprado (vegetarian) (Sufism)

Hallo, charming viewers! I’m Freda, the vegan Frigatebird. My life is always peaceful and in tune with the world around me. This is because I follow the universal law of respecting all life and eat only plant-based food. If you have cats at home, I have a few tips for you. Turning on a vacuum cleaner creates a sudden loud noise that can easily frighten your feline friends. To prevent this, take them to another room before vacuuming, tell them what you’re going to do and close the door. If there’s a gap at the bottom, you can stuff it with a towel. You may want to put up a sign letting others know why the door is closed. And if you like to clean frequently, consider using a manual carpet and floor sweeper. It will be cheaper and quieter! Thank you for watching and love you for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet for all of us humans and all co-inhabitants alike. Here’s the weather around the world!

Ireland makes a significant investment in new housing.

The Irish government has announced its Housing for All plan, which will spend more than €4 billion annually for the next five years to add 300,000 homes to the market. In addition to benefiting renters and first-time buyers, the initiative will also help to put an end to homelessness by 2030, per the European Union’s 2021 Lisbon Declaration. Currently, over 8,000 individuals in the country are without a home, and this number represents a long-standing plateau. An oversight committee composed of nongovernmental organizations and construction stakeholders will advise the state on its efforts to ensure adequate, safe and affordable housing for everyone. What a promising development, Ireland! May your provision of permanent accommodation for all facilitate your citizens’ happiness and progress, in God’s loving Embrace.

Innovative approach to preserving food saves energy and emissions.

A team of researchers in California, USA, and Beijing, China, has demonstrated the efficiency of constant-volume thermodynamic conditions for preventing food spoilage. Also known as isochoric freezing, the method involves placing food items in a rigid and sealed container filled with water and then put in a freezer. Only 10% of the water needs to be frozen while the pressure inside the container prevents the ice from expanding. As long as liquid water surrounds the food, ice crystals will not form on it, thereby improving the food quality and preserving its freshness for a longer period of time compared to traditional freezing methods. The scientists calculate that a worldwide transition to this technology in the frozen food industry could save as much as 6.5 billion kilowatt-hours and almost 4.6 billion kilograms of carbon emissions annually. Our delighted appreciation, international researchers! May you quickly scale up your new system to help feed the world’s growing vegan population, in Heaven’s blessings.

Champion hurdler demonstrates his gratitude.

At the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Jamaican track and field star Hansle Parchment won the gold medal in the 110-meter hurdles. But, for helping to make this happen, he gave credit to a kindhearted Japanese woman who gave him money for a taxi. Mr. Parchment had accidentally boarded a bus to an aquatics venue instead of the stadium for his semi-final race. Tijana Stojkovic, a volunteer at the Games, gave him the only cash she had – a Japanese banknote worth about US$90 – so he could get to the warm-up track on time. Later, after winning the gold, Mr. Parchment returned to where he had met his guardian angel, showed her his medal, reimbursed the money, and gave her a Jamaica-branded shirt. We applaud your tender heart, Ms. Stojkovic, and your outstanding performance, Hansle Parchment! In you, we see abundant proof of God’s unconditional Love-Power.

Coming up, Southern California restaurants launch vegan fried chicken. We will take a moment to pray for the safety of all enlightened Masters who channel the love and grace of the Providence to awaken humanity. More gratifying news when we return! Please stay with us here on Supreme Master Television. Vegan: let’s prove that our heart is bigger than that piece of meat. Welcome back to Noteworthy News – Helpful News for a Caring World.

Vegan eateries introduce their own chicken substitute.

Monty’s Good Burger, in Southern California, USA, opened in 2018 with a mission to promote sustainable plant-based eating and animal rights. Since then, it has served more than 2 million meatless burgers at its four dining locations in the Los Angeles area. The company recently launched its first new menu item following 12 months of experimentation. Dubbed Charlie’s Chickǝn Sandwich, it features hand-breaded vegan fried chickǝn on an artisanal bun topped with vegan mayonnaise and pickles. The timing is right for Monty’s to make this move because of the national chicken shortage caused by the pandemic. Bravo, Monty’s Good Burger, for creating a tasty and compassionate alternative for your customers. In nurturing Celestial light, may people obtain all of their nourishment from plants – now and forever.

Canine screens the elderly for COVID-19.

Handi'chiens, in France, has been training dogs to assist disabled people since 1989. With the arrival of the pandemic, the charity taught some of its furry ambassadors to detect the novel coronavirus. After only one month’s training, a 2-year-old golden retriever named Pokaa was assigned to La Roselière nursing home in Alsace. Residents hold a small cloth under an armpit for five minutes to absorb their sweat. When Pokaa approaches it later, he sits down if he smells the virus’s spike proteins. So far, PCR tests have confirmed that for patients with symptoms, the four-legged medic is right every time. The dog is also able to recognize the virus two days before a positive PCR test result for people with or without symptoms. Thank you, Handi'chiens, and three cheers for Pokaa! Your capabilities inspire praise for God and our determination to abolish the consumption of animals, in the wisdom of Heaven.

We know you’ve been waiting for a joke and here it comes. It’s titled “Hidden Agenda.”

A middle-aged man realized he was overweight and made a resolution to exercise for half an hour every day. At the end of the first week, he said to his wife:

“Honey, I think I undertook too much for a beginner. I’ve decided to divide up my workouts.”

“Hmm. Do you mean like morning and afternoon?”

“No. I mean half for me and half for you.”

?!

And now we have a heartline from Hsing-I in Taiwan, also known as Formosa:

Hallo, Dear Supreme Master Ching Hai and Supreme Master Television team, Before Master’s lecture at the Taoyuan Dome Stadium in Taiwan (Formosa) during the 2000 Ocean of Love tour, I was looking for places to put up the promotion posters.

One interesting experience was that a female owner of a barbershop at first didn’t allow me to put up the poster in her shop. But when I unrolled the poster, she immediately agreed. I promised her that after the lecture, I would come immediately to take down the poster and clean the glass window. When I went there to take back the poster after the lecture, she wouldn’t let me and told me a story: When she was 18 years old, she was hurt, slandered, and felt she didn’t have any reason to live anymore. So she went to the seashore in Hualien to commit suicide. As she was walking into the water, she suddenly heard a voice from the ocean, “You are so foolish! It’s not worth it to die like this…” After hearing that, she thought, “Right, why am I so stupid?” Sitting on the beach, she thought, “Since I didn’t die today, I should celebrate my rebirth and get a new name.” After looking at the ocean and thinking about it for a long time, she said to herself, “I will call myself Ching Hai (Pure Ocean).” When she saw Master’s name on the poster, she was too shocked to speak, since she never imagined that there was really a Master whose name is also Ching Hai. Later, she became a vegan as well.

Master is the defender of all sentient beings, and She protects everyone. Thank You, Supreme Master Ching Hai, for Your Love and patience for all sentient beings. Wishing that Supreme Master Ching Hai, the Supreme Master Television team, and Master’s dogs are safe, healthy, and happy and hope everything goes well for you! I am very grateful. Hsing-I from Taiwan (Formosa)

Positive Hsing-I, Thank you for sharing that incredible story! Wonders never cease in Master’s Divine presence. She is truly watching over everyone and guiding all beings to their Celestial Home where they belong! How fortunate we are to have chosen to be the instruments of Her Divine hand to help liberate others. May Heaven’s forever Light continue to guide you and robust Taiwan (Formosa), Supreme Master TV team

P.S. Master has some words of encouragement for you: “Beautiful Hsing-I, your story illustrates the power we have to awaken other people. We never know what role we have to play in the lives of others. Just the act of putting up a poster can change the life of the person who sees it. Even though you could not have known what impact that poster was going to have on the shop owner, you let the Master Power guide you there. It is good that you allowed yourself to be Its instrument. Continue my love! The Divine plan needs our participation, so the more we choose with all our hearts to help liberate others, the more we will be guided to do what the Master Power directs us to do even without knowing it. May the Buddhas watch over and bless you and sympathetic Taiwan (Formosa).”
